Marc Courtney Johnson Quartet

Marc Courtney Johnson, a Chicago-based vocalist and songwriter, embarked on his musical journey at age five, singing in church before discovering a love for the clarinet in junior high and performing with symphony and marching bands throughout high school. At Northern Illinois University, he briefly pursued a vocal performance degree, contributing his voice to the NIU Chorus and Black Choir, and later earned a business degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

In 2003, Marc immersed himself in jazz, a genre that has since defined his career. Renowned for his soulful voice, Marc has graced legendary venues like the Green Mill Cocktail Lounge and Pops for Champagne, enchanting audiences at prestigious events including a memorable New Year's Eve performance at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

His debut self-titled CD with the Dan Cray Trio in 2005 garnered international acclaim and nominations in the Just Plain Folk Music Awards. After a decade hiatus, Marc triumphantly returned to the Chicago scene, now captivating audiences with his timeless melodies and musical charisma.”
